Audio Engineers job at Center for the Arts / College of Staten Island . Staten Island, NY.

Audio Engineers

Department: Production

Reports to: Production Manager

Position Classification: Hourly

Position Summary: Sets up audio equipment for events and monitors sound board during performances.

Responsibilities: Set up audio equipment including speakers, monitors, amplifiers, and microphones; operate sound board, run cables, provide monitor mixes, work with in-house system or set up independent sound system; patch analog system; run audio from video and other inputs; report to production manager and or stage manager; keep equipment organized and clean; help other departments on call when needed.

Qualifications: Familiar with standard audio equipment, and Soundcraft sound boards, be able to perform quick troubleshooting, be able to work independently, lift heavy equipment, and work well under pressure. Previous experience a must.

The Center for the Arts maintains a roster of stagehands, theatrical electricians, audio engineers, riggers, loaders, and other theatrical professionals from which to draw stage crews on an as-needed basis.
