What You'll Do

You will be matched with an opportunity to teach a Monday podcasting course in the afternoon to 11th and 12th graders at a school in Kingsbridge, Bronx. The course will cover:

  • Recording Basics: Using microphones, setting up recording software, understanding basic audio settings.
  • Hands-On Practice: Students will record episodes in small groups or individually, practicing scripts and equipment use.
  • Basic Editing Skills: Using simple audio editing software (like Audacity or GarageBand) to cut, arrange, and enhance recordings.
  • Adding Music and Effects: Incorporating background music or sound effects to make podcasts engaging.

Publishing and Sharing:

  • Exportting files in the correct format.
  • Discussing sharing options with family, friends, or uploading to platforms for a wider audience.
