Job summary

Athey Creek in Hillsboro, OR seeks an Audio Engineer to mix Front of House and Broadcast audio for weekend services, rehearsals, and special events, shaping production systems to deliver distraction-free worship.

You will train volunteers, maintain equipment, handle line checks, patching, and sound checks, and collaborate with staff to ensure a consistently excellent worship experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly staff meetings and special events as needed.
• Mix Front of House and Broadcast audio for weekend and Wednesday services and events.
• Prepare stages and audio systems with line checks, patching, and sound checks.
• Set up/strike stages for services and events.
• Troubleshoot audio issues quickly to ensure distraction-free services.
• Train and be a point of contact for volunteers.
• Edit and export worship recordings; assist with teaching audio when needed.
• Support lighting, lyrics, and media operations during services.
• Maintain and organize production equipment for reliability.

Join a team that produces high-quality weekend services, worship recordings, and special events using professional-level audio systems. As our Audio Engineer, you'll mix live services, develop volunteers, help shape our production systems, and contribute to creating an excellent worship experience for thousands of people each week. Through excellent audio production, you'll help remove distractions so people can engage with worship and the teaching of God's Word.

Required Experience & Knowledge:

• Agree to ACC ’s doctrinal distinctive and vision as found in our What We Believe/Vision Statement
• Fulfill the character qualifications of adeacon as taught in scripture
• Be highly motivated, energetic, and possess strong work ethic/initiative skills
• Experience with mixing liveaudio
• Knowledgeable about signalflow
• Experience troubleshooting audio systems
• Ability to learn new equipment quickly
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during rehearsals, weekend services, and special events (up to 8 hours)
• Ability to regularly bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and work around stage and production equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to push or pull rolling equipment cases, carts, and road cases weighing up to 80 pounds
• Ability to adapt and thrive in arapidly changing, dynamic environment
• Exhibit skill to think quickly and react/troubleshoot calmly and effectively in high-stress situations

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Participate in weekly staff meetings and special events as needed
• Engage as part of ateam with Athey Creek staff, always being edifying to one another
• Mix Front of House and Broadcast audio for weekend and Wednesday services, as well as special events
• Prepare stages and audio systems by completing line checks, patching, sound checks, and virtual sound checks
• Help set up and strike stages for services and special events
• Troubleshoot audio issues quickly and calmly to ensure smooth, distraction-free services
• Promote volunteer team engagement as Trainer and Point of Contact
• Edit and export Worship Team recordings; assist in editing teaching audio as necessary
• Assist with special event staging, rental, power, and other set-up needs
• Support lighting, lyrics, and media operations as needed during services and events
• Help maintain and organize professional audio and production equipment to keep our systems reliable and ready for ministry
• Perform routine maintenance and identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and the overall production experience
• Serve wherever needed to support Production across all Athey Creek campuses, helping provide consistent excellence in every environment
• All other duties as assigned

Schedule:

Tuesday-Sunday, including weekends and evenings
