Are you an experienced Audio Engineer with a sharp ear for detail and a knack for storytelling through sound? Mercor is recruiting skilled editors to support AI research projects as independent contractors. While this role focuses on text-based content, your experience in editing, structure, and quality control makes you a strong fit for helping train and evaluate advanced language models.

What You’ll Do:

• Apply your editorial instincts—refined through years of editing dialogue, soundscapes, and audio narratives—to written content workflows
• Design realistic editing scenarios that reflect the kind of review and revision process audio editors go through: refining structure, eliminating inconsistencies, and ensuring clarity
• Review and enhance AI-generated content with an ear for tone, rhythm, pacing, and intent—just as you would when polishing an audio track
• Help AI researchers understand how editorial decisions are made, whether in audio or written formats, and contribute to improving AI's editorial capabilities

What We’re Looking For:

• 4+ years of professional experience in audio editing, post-production, or editorial roles
• Strong editorial judgment—especially around pacing, clarity, coherence, and storytelling
• Experience reviewing or refining scripts, transcriptions, or audio narratives for structure and tone
• A collaborative mindset and comfort working independently on creative editorial tasks
