We are seeking an experienced Audio DSP Engineer to join our In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) audio development team supporting next-generation electric vehicle platforms. This role focuses on the design, development, integration, tuning, and validation of real-time audio signal processing solutions, including voice communication, echo cancellation, noise reduction, and audio post-processing technologies.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in audio DSP algorithms, embedded Linux audio systems, and real-time software development using C/C++. Experience with automotive audio systems, microphone array processing, and voice enhancement technologies is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, optimize, and maintain the IVI audio software stack for automotive platforms.
- Develop and integrate voice communication and speech processing solutions, including Echo Cancellation and Noise Reduction technologies.
- Implement and optimize audio DSP algorithms for real-time embedded systems.
- Develop audio playback and post-processing pipelines including mixing, routing, equalization, gain control, filtering, and sample rate conversion.
- Integrate microphone array processing technologies such as beamforming and Direction of Arrival (DoA) estimation.
- Collaborate with hardware, system integration, and software teams to ensure seamless audio system performance.
- Work closely with QA and validation teams to perform testing, debugging, tuning, and system validation.
- Support acoustic measurements, audio tuning, and objective performance evaluations.
- Analyze and resolve real-time audio performance, latency, and quality issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Signal Processing, or related field.
- Strong experience in Audio DSP development and speech signal processing.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC)
- Residual Echo Suppression (RES)
- Voice Activity Detection (VAD)
- Automatic Gain Control (AGC)
- Beamforming (MVDR or similar)
- Wind Noise Reduction
- Direction of Arrival (DoA)
- Speech Enhancement
- Experience with traditional DSP algorithms, statistical signal processing, and ML/AI-based speech enhancement solutions.
- Strong knowledge of audio post-processing:
- Audio Mixing and Routing
- Gain/Volume Control
- Mute/Ducking
- Sample Rate Conversion
- Strong understanding of Linux audio architecture, particularly ALSA.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming for real-time embedded systems.
- Experience with Python and MATLAB for algorithm development and validation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience commercializing voice communication and voice recognition features.
- Hands-on experience with DSP Concepts Audio Weaver (AWE).
- Familiarity with embedded Linux audio frameworks and production software deployment.
- Experience with acoustic tuning and validation tools such as:
- HEAD Acoustics
- HATS (Head and Torso Simulator)
- Experience with Deep Learning, Neural Networks, and Hybrid DSP + ML audio solutions.
