About the Role

As an Audience Insights & Analytics Lead within the Ad Sales organization, you will be working hands‑on with our first‑party log data to develop and own projects that will inform clients of how culture plays out on Roku.

Responsibilities
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Strategy, Measurement, Communications, and Content to address audience questions and initiatives.
  • Design and execute analyses that highlight user behavior and advertiser opportunities, particularly around sports, holidays, and cultural moments.
  • Serve as a go‑to partner for Ad Sales to develop bespoke audience and behavioral insights for large sponsorship opportunities.
  • Use a “full‑stack” approach to insights: formulate research questions, write SQL, analyze results, build visualizations and slides, and present findings to stakeholders and clients.
  • Build and optimize self‑serve tools and dashboards for internal teams; document processes to help the Audience Insights team scale.
  • Contribute to thought leadership opportunities, ranging from whitepapers to quick press‑optimized insights that capitalize on fleeting moments.
Qualifications

  • Experience with big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Presto) to process and analyze large data sets.
  • Knowledge of the TV industry and Roku's strategic position in the landscape.
Required Skills
  • SQL expertise: translate business questions into complex queries and thoughtfully leverage subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.
  • Ability to "turn math into English": transform raw data into compelling narratives and visuals, making the "so what?" clear to stakeholders.
  • Creativity with data: go beyond a prescribed or trodden approach and develop new, innovative ways to answer insights questions. Can work dynamically and pivot as needed.
  • Comfort exploring new datasets and piecing together knowledge as you go.
Preferred Skills
  • Interest in sports, content, and pop culture.
  • Knowledge of TV measurement vendors, methodologies, and terminologies; familiarity with syndicated TV reporting, particularly Nielsen's NPOWER.
