FANGORIA is seeking an Audience Development & Content Strategy Lead to grow fangoria.com, optimize content strategy, SEO/AEO, and email monetization in collaboration with editorial. You will build and own dashboards, test formats, and turn the 47-year archive into a traffic and engagement engine.
You will drive discovery in an AI era, expand formats to podcasts and events, and partner with senior editors to align the subscriber journey with business goals.
Since 1979, FANGORIA has lived in print and on‑screen as one of the most influential horror brands in the industry, and has now been ushered into a digitally dominated world to thrive as iconic an genre media destination, honoring a 40+ year legacy through exciting, inclusive, and generation‑spanning content, across multimedia platforms such as print, digital, studio (film and television), podcasts, merchandise and more. From design, to content, to advertising, FANGORIA is a curated, celebratory experience of the horror genre.
Now at FANGORIA we are looking for an Audience Development & Content Strategy Lead to join our passionate team. This is a hands‑on, in‑the‑tools role for someone who reads data and analytics fluently on a daily basis. The ideal candidate has grown a publication’s audience: they know which formats work and multiply, when to kill an idea and when to test it, how a 47‑year archive becomes a traffic engine, how email turns readers into members, and how to win discovery in an AI‑driven search world. They collaborate on the plan, own the numbers, and love proving what works. A strong candidate has a genuine passion for horror, but you don’t need a horror resume: some of the best people for this job are growing very different sites right now, and we know it.
If you’ve got the vision, the drive, and an unrelenting obsession with what makes audiences grow, step into the shadows and join us in building the future of FANGORIA together.
In year one: website sessions growing quarter over quarter, email‑driven site traffic multiplied several times over, email capture on the site measurably improved, and a dashboard the whole company trusts. We’ll set the specific targets together in your first month.
