Job summary

Caring Transitions of Hilton Head, SC is seeking friendly, flexible part-time help to assist with sorting, packing, and estate-related tasks for seniors and families. You’ll group items into donate, sell, or discard and prepare items for CTBids listings.

Roles are varied and schedule-driven, with coordination among movers, nursing home staff, and families to ease transitions and preserve treasured memories. This is a hands-on, community-focused opportunity.

Qualifications

• A good temperment, empathy and patience.
• A reliable source of transportation.
• A smart phone for scheduling & time-keeping apps.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand, move around, and work for long periods of time outside lunch & short breaks.

Responsibilities

• Sort and organize items inside a house into three buckets: donate, sell, discard.
• For sell items, create auction lots, photograph, title, describe and upload to CTBids.
• Professionally pack household items for moving.
• Unpack and resettle clients in their new home.
• Communicate with coworkers and external partners (movers, nursing home staff), clients and families.
• Clean out homes and coordinate donation and junk hauling/trash pickup.
• Every job varies, may involve dusty or dirty conditions.

When and How Much You’ll Work

• Part-time hours—no two days or weeks are the same with no guarantee of hours (we strive to best serve our clients and get more work in the pipeline)
• Typical jobs last 3-6 days, scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance with possibility of change (we'd like the same 2-3 people on a job from beginning to end rather than just random few hours)

What You’ll Do
