Job summary

Blue Box Auction is seeking an associate to help create and run auctions, with a focus on photography, cataloging, and online/offline sales workflows. You’ll take photos, write descriptions, and help manage live events for a worldwide audience.

The role involves working with antiques and collectibles, creating catalogs, and coordinating logistics for auction day. Part-time hours are available with potential for more. A fast-paced environment and knowledge of the items are valued.

Qualifications

• Proficient photography with strong lighting techniques.
• Ability to create compelling item descriptions and catalog assets.
• Comfort with technology and quick learning of new software.

• Take outstanding gallery style photos of objects and artifacts.
• Auction item intake from consignor, unpack & track items.
• Create digital images to show off the assets up for auction.
• Write captivating descriptions.
• Create online catalogs.
• Manage the masses and meet the people by helping manage the onsite audience.
• Set-up electronic system for recording sales (will be trained on software).
• Completing auction reports.
• Customer service for lot pickup, shipping and bidder previews.
• Use technology to construct, track, edit auction items.
• Live Auction-Day Operations.
• Service & Logistics support, including lifting, moving items.
• Administrative Reporting.

Auctions help individuals, businesses and families offer their estate, assets or collections, for top dollar to a worldwide audience to determine the true market value.

Our auction gallery sells Antiques, Coins, Collectibles, Furniture, Art, Real Estate, and many other categories.

We have an opening for a new associate to join the team. You'll assist us in the full scope of creating and running an auction. Flex your knowledge in a myriad of unique items and help write captivating descriptions. Click the lens and take amazing photos to show off the assets up for auction. Manage the masses and meet the people, by helping manage the onsite audience during auction day!

These are some of the tasks you'll do on any given day to help manage the smooth, efficient, accurate administration of our onsite and online auctions.

Hours are flexible to meet demands and we can offer either part-time or possibly full-time hours (two positions available currently).

What we are looking for

• Strong working knowledge of photography, lighting, and capturing the essence of an item based on its attributes.
• Comfortable with technology
• Professional and good with people (internally)
• Enjoy working and have a great attitude
• Communicate with management and production teams as needed
• Able to lift up to 50lbs
