Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Attorney to join our Workers’ Compensation Defense team. Attorneys manage the legal defense of workers' compensation cases from inception to final resolution, including all aspects of discovery and litigation. They work closely with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators. We are now seeking an Attorney with 2 to 5+ years of workers' compensation defense experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in California workers’ compensation hearings, mediations, and appeals.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Review claims, gather evidence, and prepare cases for hearings.
  • Advise clients on legal risks, strategies, and compliance with California state workers’ compensation laws and applicable federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with claims adjusters, HR representatives, and other internal teams to manage caseloads effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and reports.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s and Juris Doctor (JD) degrees.
  • Member of the State Bar of California, in good standing.
  • 2 to 5+ years of workers' compensation defense experience.
  • Superior research, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to proactive case management.
  • Experience with Merus or Litify preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams preferred but not required.

Location: Must reside in the state of California. This position offers remote work.

Physical Requirements: Computer keyboarding; travel as required.
