Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Inc. (SALA) seeks an attorney to work in its Tucson Office, handling a general civil litigation caseload with emphasis on bankruptcy, housing, consumer, landlord/tenant and public benefits matters.

The attorney will join SALA's mission to serve the low-income community across southeastern Arizona, working in a public interest setting and contributing to access to justice with a strong emphasis on equity and client-centered representation.

Qualificações

• Must be a member of the Arizona Bar or eligible for admission; may sit the next exam.
• Applicants licensed 2 years in another jurisdiction may practice by special rule.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful.

DESCRIPTION

Southern Arizona Legal Aid, Inc. (SALA) provides services to the poverty community of nine counties in southeastern Arizona.The Native American component also serves eleven tribal communities. SALA is hiring an attorney to work in its Tucson Office. The attorney hired will be required to undertake a general civil litigation caseload consisting primarily of bankruptcy, housing, consumer, landlord/tenant and public benefits cases.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Applicants must be a member of the Arizona Bar, eligible for admission to the Arizona Bar, or pass the next exam; applicants licensed 2 years in another jurisdiction may practice by special rule.
• Applicants must exhibit a high degree of sensitivity to the problems of the low-income community and should be able to work with low-income and community groups.
• Applicants should be knowledgeable in the area of general civil practice and specifically general civil practice on behalf of the low-income community.
• Bilingual English\Spanish helpful

COMPENSATION

Salary range $58,656 - $101,915 depending on experience; Up to five percent additional compensation to individuals fluent in Spanish. Payment of bar exam and admission fees for those not yet admitted. Student loan repayment assistance. Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility.
