The Service Oklahoma (SOK) mission is to ease the stress in navigating government services by providing a best-in-class customer experience. We are Oklahomans helping Oklahomans by providing driver license and motor vehicle services on behalf of the state.

This position has an annual rate of $70,000.00.

Service Oklahoma offers a generous benefits package, including a benefits allowance to off-set the costs of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans. Service Oklahoma will match up to 7% towards an employee’s Defined Contribution retirement plan. Our employees receive 11 paid holidays, 15 days of paid annual leave, which increases with every 5 years of service, and 15 days of paid sick leave. Additionally, employees will receive longevity payments based on their years of service with the State of Oklahoma.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Implied Consent Staff Attorney position is responsible for performing professional legal representation for Service Oklahoma, primarily in the area of implied consent litigation. Professional legal research and representation may be required in other areas related to driver license and motor vehicle services.

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including but not limited to those specific to Service Oklahoma.
  • Prepares various briefs, pleadings, motions, petitions, and other legal documents.
  • Assembles legal materials, agency data, documents, and pleadings for court cases.
  • Ensures that deadlines are met for filing various court actions.
  • Participates in all aspects of litigation.
  • Provides management with advice and work product exhibiting knowledge, insight, and understanding of relevant law and facts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents, and correspondence.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts to diverse audiences in a clear and persuasive manner.

Education & Experience

The preferred minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Graduation from an accredited law school; PLUS licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma; PLUS minimum one (1) year legal experience as a licensed attorney
Special Requirements
  • The schedule for this position may vary and require flexibility, including some early or late shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime, based on the needs of the agency.
  • This position will require occasional travel. The employee must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel. State vehicles may be available, but reliable transportation may be required for local travel.
  • This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.
  • This position requires employees to be able to stand up to eight hours a day and lift 10-50 pounds on a regular basis, with assistance as needed.
