Legacy Law Firm, P.C. invites an experienced attorney to join our new Johnston office, focusing on estate planning, tax strategy, and business planning. You will collaborate with our Sioux Falls team, mentor staff, and help build client relationships in Des Moines area.

You should be ready to handle trusts and core planning independently from day one, while enjoying supportive leadership and flexible scheduling in a boutique practice dedicated to exceptional service.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of estate planning experience including trusts.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Background in accounting, taxation, finance, or business preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with individuals, families, business owners, and farmers to design customized estate plans.
• Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, business succession plans, and related estate planning documents.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on advanced estate, tax, and business planning strategies.

Legacy Law Firm, P.C. is opening a new office in Johnston and looking for a talented attorney who wants to be part of a highly accomplished, respected boutique estate planning firm where their work matters. About The Role

You will work with individuals, families, business owners, and agricultural clients. You'll also work closely with our experienced attorneys in Sioux Falls and continue developing advanced planning skills, but since most mentoring will happen remotely, you should be comfortable handling trusts and core estate planning documents on your own from day one.

Because the office is new, you'll help with business development by building relationships with clients and professional referral partners across the Des Moines area.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet with individuals, families, business owners, and farmers to design customized estate plans
• Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, business succession plans, and related estate planning documents
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on advanced estate, tax, and business planning strategies
• Build trusted relationships with clients and professional referral partners
• Help the Johnston office's legal workflow and client service standards
• Guide support staff
• Stay in close contact with the Sioux Falls team so both offices run consistently

Requirements

Experience and background

• 1+ years of estate planning experience, including trusts
• Excellent analytical, drafting, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Educational background or professional experience in accounting, taxation, finance, business, or a related field preferred

Must-haves

• J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in Iowa
• Leadership ability and the drive to manage your cases without daily oversight
• A desire to build a long-term career
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering exceptional client service
• Strong attention to detail and outstanding organizational abilities

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $90,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience
• Yearly performance bonus of
