US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

Applicants must be licensed and in good standing with the State of Texas. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Position Summary:

The State Level Attorney is responsible for ensuring client success at the litigation level including preparation for and through trial.

Essential Functions:
  • The review and approval of new claims within the Attorney's jurisdiction(s). This includes meeting state level goals for consistent case movement.
  • Under the direction of the Managing Attorney/Regional Attorney, assists with management and supervision of jurisdictional inventory, including exception and queue management.
  • Conduct document review and discovery.
  • Execute documents requiring Attorney's signature.
  • Communicate with Managing Attorney/Regional Attorney and clients regarding case details.
  • Assist in responding to litigation-specific components of all client audits.
  • Monitor relevant legal rules, regulations, statutes, and case law.
  • Conduct research and analysis of legal problems.
  • Analyze probable case outcomes using legal precedents.
  • Prepare and file legal documents.
  • Manage and resolve collection litigation.
  • Work with Pro Se litigants, opposing counsel, or other interested parties to settle files throughout litigation.
  • Oversee and interact with outside collections and defense counsel.
  • Support corporate compliance with laws governing debt collection and related activities.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Managing or Regional Attorney.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an ABA-accredited institution with a Juris Doctor (J.D.)
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas
  • Proven case analysis and settlement skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Skilled in internet and online research
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Flexibility to adapt and respond quickly to urgent matters
  • Patience and ability to work with diverse individuals
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Represent the company professionally in various forums
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical demands include talking, hearing, using hands, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, and focus adjustment. The noise level is usually low to moderate.
