Job summary

Latitude is seeking an experienced commercial contracts attorney for a fully remote, part-time contract engagement as in-house counsel to a clinical-stage life sciences company.

You will review, negotiate, and close a broad range of agreements, including sophisticated life sciences contracts and ordinary-course vendor agreements, while working directly with business stakeholders. Strong preference for pharma/biotech background and in-house experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of sophisticated commercial contracting experience, preferably including substantial in-house experience.
• Meaningful experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other drug-development organizations.
• Experience independently drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, from sophisticated life sciences contracts through routine ordinary-course vendor and operational agreements.
• Experience with agreements supporting manufacturing, supply, clinical, or laboratory operations strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound legal and business judgment, prioritize material contractual risks, and resolve issues independently.
• Ability to work effectively and responsively in a fast-paced environment with same-day turnaround expectations.
• Disciplined approach to document management, version control, and redlining, and willingness to work within the client7s preferred process.
• Experience with GDPR and other EU/UK data privacy requirements is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing.
• Outstanding professional references.

Contract In-House Commercial Contracts Counsel – Life Sciences (Fully Remote | Part-Time | Engagement)

Latitude is seeking an experienced commercial contracts attorney for a fully remote, part-time contract engagement as in-house counsel to a clinical-stage life sciences company. This work-from-home opportunity is well suited to a lawyer who can step into a lean legal department, take ownership of the day-to-day contract flow immediately, and move matters from intake to signature without routine oversight.

The attorney selected will serve as the client's hands-on commercial counsel resource, working directly with business stakeholders to review, negotiate, and close a broad range of agreements supporting the company's operations. The work will span sophisticated life sciences agreements — manufacturing, supply, laboratory, testing, and other agreements supporting drug development — as well as the ordinary-course commercial and operational contracts that arise in a growing company. Prior experience supporting a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other drug-development organization will be particularly valuable.

This is a contract attorney engagement of approximately 20 hours per week on a long-term basis. The client moves quickly, and the engagement calls for a lawyer who is available and responsive across the business week rather than in isolated blocks, and who is comfortable exercising independent judgment on contractual risk.

• Excellent academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school
• Excellent analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing

Position Details Of The Contract In-House Commercial Contracts Counsel

This is a contract attorney engagement through Latitude: the selected candidate will be employed by Latitude and work as an embedded member of the client's legal function for the duration of the engagement.

Compensation

• Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $250,000 to $320,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate's preference (each candidate's pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate's competitiveness for the position).
