Job summary

Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP in Connecticut seeks a defense attorney with insurance defense experience to join our growing, multistate civil litigation team. This is a remote or hybrid position requiring regular travel to hearings, depositions, and trials across the state.

The ideal candidate will be a Connecticut-licensed attorney with 4–5+ years of relevant practice, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to manage a caseload within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Connecticut lawyer with 4–5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Admitted to practice in Connecticut and in good standing.
• New York admission a plus but not required.
• Excellent research, writing, and legal analysis.
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage caseload in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage caseload with oversight by partners as appropriate.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Research and write memoranda.
• Report to clients and coordinate with expert witnesses.
• Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.

Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP, a multistate full-service civil litigation defense firm and business partner to the insurance industry, is seeking a highly motivated Connecticut practicing defense attorney. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing, dynamic firm that offers a great working environment and potential for advancement. We are looking for the right candidate to join our team in a remote or hybrid work position. This role requires regular travel to various locations, including but not limited to, in person attendance at hearings, inspections, depositions, mediations, and trials throughout the state of Connecticut.

Seeking defense attorney with the following experience:

• Connecticut practicing lawyer with 4-5+ years' insurance defense litigation experience. New York admission a plus but not required.

Qualification requirements:

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in Connecticut and in good standing
• Exhibits an in-depth knowledge of Connecticut Court Rules and Procedures.
• Demonstrated excellence in research, writing, and legal analysis
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage caseload and work in a team environment
• Highly detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Extensive experience conducting and defending depositions, drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings and trials

Duties and responsibilities of attorneys include but are not limited to:

• Managing caseload (with oversight by partners depending on experience level)
• Drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Research and writing of memorandums

• Conducting and defending depositions
