Job summary

Sodoma Law seeks an experienced Family Law Attorney for its Rock Hill, SC office. The ideal candidate will handle cases from intake through resolution as first-chair, maintain strong client relationships, and contribute to the firm’s community engagement.

Licensed in SC (NC licensure a plus) with 3+ years of family law practice is preferred. This role offers autonomy with support from an expanding, collaborative firm.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar. North Carolina licensure is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience practicing family law, with the ability to independently handle cases from intake through resolution as first-chair counsel.
• Ability to understand Local Rules and how they apply to family law cases.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a client portfolio and maintain a high standard of client service.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to navigate high-stress, emotionally sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and compassion.
• Active involvement in the York, Lancaster, Chester, and Chesterfield communities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent legal advice to family law clients in hearings, settlement negotiations, and mediations.
• Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations and trials.
• Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
• Maintain strong, compassionate, and professional client communication throughout the case lifecycle.
• Mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants.
• Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality in all client interactions.
• Engage in business development activities, including cultivating client relationships, networking, and contributing to the firm’s growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff across the firm to support client needs and contribute to the continued success of Sodoma Law.
