Job summary

Law Firms in White Plains, NY seeks an experienced Construction/General Liability Litigation Associate Attorney to manage a diversified defense docket from inception to resolution.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in New York.
• 4+ years of litigation experience.
• Experience handling insurance defense, general liability and/or premises liability matters.
• Experience taking cases through mediation and/or trial.
• Strong deposition, motion practice and courtroom experience.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and communicate effectively with clients.
• Knowledge of NYS Labor Law §§ 200, 240 and 241 is a plus.
• OSHA hearing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Handle court appearances, depositions, mediations and trial-related activities.
• Defend matters involving general liability, trucking and transportation-related disputes.
• Develop case strategy and work closely with Partners on significant matters.
• Communicate directly with clients, claims professionals and other stakeholders.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and substantive legal correspondence.
• Evaluate liability, damages and exposure and provide strategic recommendations.
• Continue developing litigation and substantive legal expertise.

The Role

You’ll handle a diverse litigation caseload involving insurance defense, general liability, premises liability, transportation/auto liability, trucking and construction-related disputes.

The role offers substantial exposure to sophisticated litigation and the opportunity to take increasing ownership of matters while working alongside experienced attorneys and Partners.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $180,000 – $220,000 Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
