Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active NY State Bar admission in good standing.
• 4+ years of litigation experience including mediation/arbitration/trial.
• Experience in insurance defense, premises/general liability, or casualty litigation.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to manage a caseload.
• Familiarity with NY Labor Law §§ 200, 240, 241 preferred.
• Experience taking depositions and appearing in court.
• OSHA matters, Corporation Counsel, or DA matters a plus.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage matters involving insurance defense, general liability, transportation, and NY Labor Law construction claims.
• Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and court appearances.
• Work closely with partners and senior attorneys on complex litigation strategy and case development.
• Regularly communicate with clients, providing litigation updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Maintain compliance with court deadlines, reporting requirements, and litigation budgets.
• Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups to deliver exceptional client service.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a highly regarded litigation team representing insurers, businesses, and other clients in matters involving general liability, construction accidents, transportation claims, and casualty litigation.
