Position: Junior Associate - Litigation (Insurance Defense)

Work Location: Remote (Must live within commutable distance to New Jersey courts for appearances).

Our firm is seeking to hire a junior litigation associate to join our established and growing insurance defense team in New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or junior attorney with up to 2 years of experience who is looking to gain hands-on litigation experience in a fast-paced environment. The associate will work closely with senior attorneys and partners while supporting matters involving general liability and personal injury claims.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in managing litigation files and handling assigned tasks with increasing independence
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands/responses, and legal memoranda
- Support depositions and court appearances, with mentorship and supervision
- Conduct legal research and communicate with clients and carriers
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation
- Comply with reporting guidelines and firm procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Certifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Admitted (or pending admission) to the New Jersey Bar
Experience:
- 0-2 years of experience in litigation.
- Prior law clerkship experience strongly preferred
- Interest in insurance defense, personal injury or general liability matters
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Prior internship/clinical experience in litigation or insurance defense (preferred)
- Strong research and writing skills
