Job summary

Career Servant is seeking a tenacious, perceptive Associate Attorney to manage a diverse portfolio of cases in Houston. You will meet with clients to ascertain needs, select action paths, and represent clients in meetings and in court, reporting to the Attorney in charge.

Qualifications

  • Accredited Law degree and bar admission in the relevant state.
  • Experience practicing as an Attorney in the chosen specialty.
  • Familiarity with legislation and case law related to the specialty.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team to develop case strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to ascertain case details and merits.
  • Conduct legal research using statutes, case law, and texts to determine action.
  • Draft legal texts including reports, contracts, and appeals.
  • Represent clients at meetings, hearings, and trials.
  • Advocate for acquittal or clemency when appropriate.
  • Inform line manager of important case developments.
  • Ensure confidentiality and secure storage of client data.
  • Report hours spent on each assignment.
  • Stay updated on changes to legislation.

Job description

Searching for a tenacious, perceptive Associate Attorney to assist with managing a diverse portfolio of cases. The Associate Attorneys responsibilities include meeting with clients to ascertain their needs, choosing the most appropriate course of action, and representing clients interests at meetings and in court. Throughout this process, you will collaborate with and report to the Attorney in charge of each case.

To excel as an Associate Attorney, you should demonstrate outstanding research skills and familiarity with various subspecialties in the field, utilizing this knowledge to successfully conclude cases as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Education Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Experience with a top 100 American law firm or a top 100 global law firm
  • Admission to the bar in the state where you intend to practice
  • Experience or expertise in a specific branch of law may be preferred
