Role Description

The Attorney will provide legal representation and counsel to clients in a variety of practice areas, with a focus on delivering strategic, results-oriented solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, analyzing case law and statutes, and preparing for and appearing at hearings, depositions, and trials. The role involves advising clients on legal risks and compliance issues, negotiating settlements, and collaborating with colleagues and support staff to develop case strategies. The Attorney will also maintain clear, timely communication with clients and manage case files and deadlines in accordance with firm standards and ethical obligations. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Grand Rapids, MI.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, with the ability to interpret and apply statutes, regulations, and case law.
• Experience or coursework in Labor and Employment Law, including counseling and dispute resolution in workplace matters.
• Demonstrated ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice tailored to client needs and risk profiles.
• Proficient in legal Research, including use of electronic research tools and preparation of well-supported legal analyses.
• Effective Negotiation skills for settlements, agreements, and dispute resolution.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license (or eligibility for admission) to practice law in Michigan.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, work collaboratively in a team environment, and uphold high ethical standards.
• Prior litigation experience or relevant clerkship/internship experience is preferred.
