A law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney with at least 4 years of litigation experience to manage cases from intake through resolution. The ideal candidate will have strong courtroom skills, proven experience handling personal injury matters, and the ability to develop case strategy, manage deadlines, negotiate settlements, and advocate effectively for clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage personal injury cases through all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, trial, and resolution.
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, subpoenas, settlement demands, and other legal documents.
- Review and analyze liability, damages, medical records, accident reports, insurance coverage, expert reports, and settlement value.
- Conduct and defend depositions; prepare clients, witnesses, and experts for testimony.
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers, defense counsel, and opposing parties.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and expectations.
- Work with paralegals, legal assistants, experts, investigators, and other support professionals to move cases forward.
- Ensure compliance with court rules, deadlines, statutes of limitation, and procedural requirements.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active Tennessee bar admission in good standing.
- Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, with significant personal injury experience.
- Experience handling matters such as motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, or related claims.
- Strong deposition, motion practice, negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation skills; trial experience preferred.
- Excellent legal writing, research, advocacy, communication, and client service skills.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload, meet deadlines, work independently, and exercise sound judgment.
