Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Attendant - Poker Room is to oversee game seating, phone calls, rewards redemptions, provide gaming cheques to guests and Dealers for operational needs, through use of a mobile bank, and to act as a liaison between guests and support departments, specifically the Casino Cage.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a professional, friendly and courteous atmosphere providing the guest with a pleasant experience.
  2. Maintain a mobile bank for player and table bank transactions in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  3. In the absence of a mobile bank, accommodate transactions for players and table banks by acting as a liaison between them and the Casino Cage.
  4. Conduct player and table bank transactions in accordance with department policies and procedures and notify Poker Supervisors of any irregularities.
  5. Maintain an understanding of game play, rules, internal controls, and gaming standards.
  6. Handle and prioritize multiple guest requests and notify management of pertinent information.
  7. Greet guests when they arrive and handle guest lists and seating for all Poker games.
  8. Handle and respond to incoming phone calls.
  9. Issue new and reprint Grazie account cards.
  10. Issue guest rewards from logged Grazie poker play.
  11. Make appropriate guest announcements.
  12. Safety is an essential function of this job.
  13. Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

All Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 21 years of age.
  2. Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  3. High school diploma or equivalent.
  4. 1-year casino experience preferred.
  5. Basic computer skills.
  6. Accuracy in cash and cheque handling and counting to ensure even money exchanges without variation.
  7. Ability to operate 10-key calculator, Jet Scan cash counter, and any other associated equipment for accurate mobile bank accountability and even money exchanges with the Casino Cage.
  8. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  9. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  10. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  11. Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift or carry 30 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Push and maneuver departmental and property equipment, including, but not limited to, an assigned cart that contains gaming cheques.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
  • Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
