Salary Range: $15.00 - $15.00 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Attendant – Play Room is responsible for the safety, entertainment, health and well being of the children in the playroom. They will attend to the cleanliness of the toys and playroom equipment, as well as follow all safety and check in policies and procedures of the South Shore YMCA.

Reports to: Director, Youth and Family

CORE EXPECTATIONS:

  1. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

Provides careful supervision of children while engaging them in age appropriate play and activities.

  1. MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT

Builds relationships with and among members. Creates a safe and supportive community environment, assists in recruiting and engaging new members, and connects members to the YMCA’s cause.

  1. FACILITY MANAGEMENT

Ensures that The Playroom is clean, safe, adequately equipped, well maintained, and attractive.

  1. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT & SUPPORT

Assists in YMCA fund raising activities/events, and engages in collaborative relationships with community organizations in order to strengthen support and build community.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of related experience

  • Child Care Background preferred but not required

  • Must be motivated, upbeat and dedicated to creating a safe, engaging and fun environment for the children and families we service.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Position requires the ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time; the ability to bend, stoop or sit on the ground for long periods of time as well as the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
