Atrium Pharmacy Technician or Technician in Training (1.0) - On the job training available

Location: PHARMACY-ATRIUM (Billings Clinic Main Campus)

Shift: Day, Evening, Weekends
Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater)
Hours per Pay Period: 80 hours every two weeks (Non-Exempt)
Starting Wage DOE: $17.00 - 24.60

*May be eligible for $2,500 sign on bonus*

The incumbent assists the pharmacist in delivering quality pharmaceutical care and medication distribution, complying with legal standards.

Essential Job Functions
  • Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, values, and standards.
  • Answers calls and assists customers seeking pharmaceutical care.
  • Assists with medication distribution, including compounding, filling prescriptions, processing claims, and using pharmacy technology.
  • Maintains medication inventories and controlled substance records.
  • Ensures proper delivery of pharmaceuticals and manages point-of-sale processes.
  • Maintains an organized pharmacy environment.
  • Processes prescription claims, insurance verifications, and billing.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities.
  • Educates and trains new staff, students, and residents.
  • Identifies personal growth needs and maintains competency standards.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current registration with Montana State Board of Pharmacy for all Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Successful completion of required training and competencies.
  • Ongoing continuing education as per board requirements.
  • Not on the OIG exclusion list.
Pharmacy Technician In Training (Non-Certified)
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred previous experience.
  • Must be registered as a Technician-in-Training with the Montana Board of Pharmacy before employment.
  • Must pass the national certification exam and become a Certified Pharmacy Technician within the license validity period.
Pharmacy Technician Certified
  • High school diploma or equivalent, at least 18 years old.
  • Current Montana certification and any accepted national certification.
  • Responsible for maintaining a file of training and continuing education records.
