Atlantic Community School District is accepting applications for Substitute Teachers. Applicants must hold an Initial, Standard, Substitute, Sub. Authorization, or Master teaching license, issued through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
Great flexibility! Hours vary from full days to partial days depending on the assignment. Choose when you want to work through our online absence management system. A criminal as well as a child and adult abuse check are run before an official start.
In addition, the individual who accepts the position will provide the following:
Mandatory Reporter training certificate
OSHA required training certificates
Verification of Employment Eligibility (I-9 form)
other forms required for completion of personnel folder
General Responsibilities: Performs duties of the absent classroom teacher. The substitute teacher is responsible for providing instruction and managing the learning environment. The position reports to the building principal or designee at the location to which they are assigned.
Applicants will apply through the TeachIowa system and provide all required documents necessary for the completion of a personnel file before being cleared for addition to our substitute database. Interested candidates should upload a resume and tailored cover letter outlining their experience and qualifications, along with a copy of current teaching license, credentials/transcripts, and a minimum of three (current) letters of recommendation to include the author's e-mail address for the purpose of a reference survey. In addition, candidates will meet with Central Office to provide additional documents and training certificates as required by the school district.
