Job summary
Cal Poly Athletics is seeking an Athletic Strategic Communications Specialist to develop and implement strategic communications and elevate the program's profile. You will oversee the Communications staff and drive proactive messaging for all teams, coordinating with external relations on inquiries, statements, and social media to engage fans and donors.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, with strong writing, media relations, and campaign planning
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of marketing and communications theory and media vehicles.
- Thorough knowledge of athletics events and NCAA bylaws related to sports information and media relations.
- Ability to plan media coverage and publicity campaigns for athletic events.
- Ability to build and manage media contacts and deliver media messages.
- Strong story development, writing, and editing of media guides, brochures, and game stories.

- Oversee Athletic Communications staff and messaging opportunities.
- Collaborate with External Relations on communications, media inquiries, and social postings.
