Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience as a teacher, administrator, Athletic Director, or equivalent, preferably with coaching experience at the secondary level.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; able to work with athletes, coaches, students, school administrators, staff, parents, and the community.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with VHSL rules and regional/district councils.
• Helps plan, organize, schedule athletic programs; supervises and prepares game facilities.
• Attends County, District, Regional, and State meetings; promotes positive public relations.
• Secures athletic practice facilities for games and practices; coordinates transportation for away events; orients coaches.
• Serves on committees and work sessions to grow and improve the athletic program.
• Supervises coaches and sponsors in co-curricular activities; inspects facilities, equipment, and supplies for safety; coordinates fundraising.
