Job summary

Greater Midland is seeking an Athletics Program Specialist - Volleyball for part-time work in Midland, Michigan. You will help organize youth and adult programs, assist with scheduling officials and volunteers, and support communications and marketing efforts.

The role requires flexible evenings and weekends, strong people skills, and the ability to work with diverse participants and staff. CPR/First Aid certification or readiness to obtain it is required or available upon hire.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Volleyball playing and/or coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with administrative duties related to Youth and Adult Programs.
  • Assist with scheduling officials, coaches and volunteers.
  • Assist with communication and marketing tasks, both internally and externally.
  • Work cooperatively and professionally with all program participants, parents, staff and volunteers.
  • Work a nontraditional schedule to support Youth and Adult programming including evenings and weekends as needed, with 30% of time in program delivery.
  • Provide timely, accurate communications to program participants before, during and following program sessions/seasons.
  • Ensure all hiring requirements established by Greater Midland are followed.
  • Complete requests from supervisor to achieve department goals.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s Values.

ATHLETICS PROGRAM SPECIALIST - VOLLEYBALL

Part Time 0-24 Midland, MI, US

Salary Range: $15.00 To $17.00 Hourly

Under the direction of the Director of Athletics, the Athletics Program Specialist will assist with Youth and Adult Program organization, daily tracking and reporting functions and scheduling. The role requires interaction with the communications and marketing function as well. The Athletics Program Specialist is expected to model servant leadership, uphold Greater Midland’s Purpose and Values, and foster a culture of excellence and integrity throughout the organization.

Major Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with administrative duties, related to Youth and Adult Programs.
  • Assist with scheduling officials, coaches and volunteers.
  • Assist with communication and marketing tasks, both internally and externally.

Physical Requirements

Reporting to Director in the Greater Midland Community Center. Regular communication and contact with employees, guests, members and volunteers. Various hours required as outlined. Able to stand and/or sit for long periods while running/teaching athletics programs.
