An educational institution seeks an Assistant Director of Marketing to enhance engagement and revenue through innovative marketing strategies in athletics. The role involves overseeing social media, developing promotional activities, and collaborating with various departments to ensure a cohesive marketing approach. Ideal candidates will have a proactive attitude and relevant experience in sports marketing.
Intercollegiate Athletics
Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing, the Assistant Director of Marketing position serves as the marketing director and game director for all assigned sports. This position will also oversee the Mizzou Athletics main account on Facebook, X, and Instagram. This includes comprehensive marketing, social media, advertising and promotional planning, working with coaches, sports information, creative services, event management and tickets sales/operations. Includes oversight of interns and student volunteers for gameday and marketing plan execution.
Duties will include but not limited to:
Developing and implementing marketing, branding and promotional plans for assigned sports to increase awareness, attendance and revenue.
Preparing and executing detailed game presentation plans to direct music, video content, public address announcements, spirit squads and other resources to deliver a high-quality fan experience for assigned sports.
Create and collaborate to execute a vision for the @MizzouAthletics social media accounts including fan storytelling, student-athlete promotion, atmosphere clips and marketing upcoming events.
Cultivating relationships with campus partners to identify mutually beneficial programming for Mizzou students around home athletic events.
Collaborating with assigned sports and other external units of the athletic department to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms.
Planning and assisting with community outreach and grassroots marketing programs to create excitement for Mizzou athletics.
Updating select content on MUTigers.com to deliver timely and relevant information to fans, ticketholders, donors and students.
Other duties as assigned.

Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Experience in sports marketing is preferred.
Salary Range: $52,915 - $58,000
Grade: GGS 9E
