Job summary

City of Orange Beach is seeking an Instructor - Athletics (Expect Excellence) to plan and lead instructional activities for the Expect Excellence program, oversee daily program operations, ensure participant safety, and deliver engaging instruction to elementary through high school age students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience and education in related fields.
• Current and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans, prepares supply lists, and coordinates program logistics.
• Develops structured, engaging, and age-appropriate lesson plans throughout the semester.
• Leads and instructs in assigned courses.
• Completes required documentation including hours worked, class sizes, and program photographs.
• Monitors daily activities within Expect Excellence programs.
• Maintains order and positive behavior during practices and classes.
• Provides individual and small group instruction and adapts curriculum to student needs.
• Serves as a positive role model with professionalism and integrity.
• Manages books, instruments, and instructional aids; maintains inventories.
• Sets up, distributes, collects, and maintains equipment.
• Controls storage and use of City-owned property; requests repairs.
• Ensures safety and well-being by enforcing rules and guidelines.
• Communicates with parents about progress and practice schedule.
• Maintains positive public relations in the community.
• Maintains current professional certifications as required.
