Job summary

Independence Community College (ICC) in Kansas seeks a dedicated Sports Information Director to enhance the visibility of ICC’s athletic programs. You will coordinate media relations, game coverage, and website updates to showcase schedules, results, and profiles.

This full-time, 12-month position reports to the Athletic Director and includes benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement, and earned vacation/sick time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, sports management, marketing, communications or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years of administrative or marketing experience, preferably in athletics or academics.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with office software and familiarity with sports information software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Federal Work Study: ensure compliance with Financial Aid and Human Resources processes for Federal Work Study.
• Supervise federal work study students assigned to Athletics.
• Administration and ensure all paperwork and time reporting is completed timely and accurately.
• Filing: ensure records are filed daily and athletic records are current.
• Maintain regular and timely attendance.
• Perform other duties as needed.
• Manage all aspects of sports information and media relations for the Athletic Department.
• Serve as main contact for media inquiries, interviews, and press releases.
• Update and maintain athletic website and social media with timely information, schedules, results, and profiles.
• Coordinate media coverage for games and events; liaise with local/regional outlets.
• Develop marketing materials for athletic events (brochures, posters, digital media).
• Manage broadcasting of home games and events, coordinate live streams, commentary, and post-game coverage.
• Coordinate home game replay system; report athletic statistics to regional organizations.
• Coordinate photo/video coverage for archives and promotional use.
