Job summary

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore seeks an Assistant Athletics Director of Communications & Operations to support the Associate Athletics Director of External Affairs in media relations, marketing, and branding across women's basketball, softball, bowling and cross country.

The role supervises staff, attends contests, manages social media and websites, and oversees gameday operations, with a commitment to working evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Seven (7) years of professional athletics, payroll, finance, accounting, or project management experience.
• Two (2) years of supervisory or management experience.
• Knowledge of project management of large scale athletics related projects.
• Knowledge of the principles of management and leadership.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serves as main media liaison for assigned sports.
• Provides social media and website management as well as game day operations (facilities, equipment, etc.). within the athletic department.
• Works closely with the Associate Athletic Directors in promoting and coordinating operations for the athletic program.
• Provides administrative and gameday/event coverage as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
