Penn State University seeks a Director or Sr. Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Strategic Communications to captain storytelling for men’s basketball and supervise staff. The role includes producing multi-media coverage, managing press needs and driving brand growth across GoPSUsports.com.

The ideal candidate has a track record in sports communications, strong leadership, and experience with Adobe CC, CMS and live stats. Prior NCAA compliance knowledge is valued.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, public relations or related field; 3+ years of experience or equivalent.
Excellent communication and organizational skills; knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and CMS; social media content experience.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute content strategies to grow the men’s basketball brand.
Lead a show media team to generate feature content, photos, videos for GoPSUsports.com.
Produce online team records, news releases and features; respond to media requests.
