Job summary

University of North Florida seeks an Academic Coordinator to support student‑athlete success from matriculation through graduation. You will monitor progress, coordinate programs, and collaborate with faculty and advisors to ensure academic eligibility and timely degree completion.

In this role, you will meet regularly with student‑athletes, assist with course scheduling and career planning, and contribute to orientation and development initiatives under the Athletics department.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Background check may be required and credit check per policy.
  • Title IX reporting responsibilities must be followed.

Responsibilities

  • Provides academic support to student‑athletes and assists with academic coaching in areas including study skills, time management, organizational skills, and other aspects of student life.
  • Meets regularly with students to monitor academic progress, class attendance, and grades. Communicates student‑athletes' academic progress, grade checks and reporting weekly to coaching staff.
  • Provides information to student‑athletes and coaches regarding institutional policies, academic requirements and athletic eligibility.
  • Provides assistance in course scheduling, career planning, and other University academic requirements. Serves as a liaison between student‑athletes and faculty, academic departments, and professional advisors in the university.
  • Monitors and tracks athletic eligibility and academic progress in collaboration with certifying officer and professional advisors.
  • Participates in the recruiting process by meeting with prospective student‑athletes in assigned sports.
  • Assists in the development of student‑athlete orientation, career, personal and professional development programs.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

General Description / Primary Purpose

The academic coordinator will provide holistic academic support and monitor the academic progress of assigned student‑athletes from matriculation to graduation and assist with the coordination of assigned academic programs as well as student‑athlete development events and initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Master's or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
