Virtua Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide direct patient care and clinical direction in accordance with organizational standards. The role ensures complete execution of physician orders, smooth patient flow, and accurate patient education on procedures and home exercise programs.

The position requires state licensure, NATA certification, and CPR/BLS. It entails clinical support, equipment handling, patient assessment, and coordination with providers in a hospital or clinic setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience is preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Athletic Training Program with a Bachelor’s degree prior to fall of 2022 and a Master’s degree thereafter.
• Must have fulfilled all requirements of the NATA Board of Certification exam and state licensure or regulation as determined by the State of New Jersey. CPR/BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the patient for examination by obtaining and documenting vital signs, chief complaint, history of present illness, and preparing the patient for provider examination.
• Provide patient education on diagnosis and demonstrate home exercise programs.
• Apply casting, splinting, and durable medical equipment under physician supervision.
• Screen and direct patient calls according to established protocol. Contact patients about prescriptions and testing results as directed by and under physician supervision.
• Perform daily regulatory testing as required and document accordingly to ensure that clinical equipment is accurate and compliant.
• Maintain par levels of clinical supplies for the facility.
