Virtua Health in Sewell, NJ seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide direct patient care and clinical direction in a busy hospital setting. You will prepare patients for exams, educate on diagnoses, and assist with home exercise programs, casting, and equipment use under physician supervision.
Responsibilities include patient screening, coordinating prescriptions and tests, maintaining supplies, and ensuring accurate execution of medical orders. Prior experience and licensure are highly valued.

Under the supervision of the designated supervisor, the Athletic Trainer performs duties associated with direct patient care and clinical direction to provide patient care given in accordance with the organization standards. The Athletic Trainer assures completeness of ordered procedures and treatments, smooth patient flow, instructs patients about procedures, treatments, and needs, and ensures medical orders are carried out accurately and promptly.
Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs, chief complaint and history of present illnesses, and preparing patient for provider exam. Provides patient education on their diagnosis and demonstrates home exercise programs. Applies casting, splinting and durable medical equipment under the supervision of the physician.
Screens and directs patient calls according to established protocol. Contacts patients about prescriptions and testing results as directed by and under the physician’s supervision.
Performs daily regulatory testing as required and documents accordingly, to ensure that clinical equipment is accurate and compliant.
Maintains par level of clinical supplies for facility.
1 year experience is preferred.
Graduate of an accredited Athletic Training Program with Bachelor’s degree prior to fall of 2022 and Master Degree required after.
Must have fulfilled all requirements of the NATA Board of Certification Inc. exam and state licensure or regulation as determined by the State of New Jersey.
CPR/BLS Certification.
Hourly Rate: $24.51 - $36.89The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
