Job summary

Summit Orthopedics in Eagan, MN is seeking an Athletic Trainer for our Orthopedic Urgent Care. This on-site, part-time float role supports our urgent care department with weekend shifts (8AM-8PM) and potential coverage across Summit locations.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's in Athletic Training and relevant certifications, with 1 year of ATC or recent graduate experience preferred. You will work with physicians and providers, assist in patient care, and travel to outreach events as

• Masters degree preferred.
• 1 year experience as ATC or recent graduate considered.
• BLS, LAT, and ATC certifications are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain histories, and perform initial and secondary assessments.
• Document patient information in the medical record.
• Complete forms for patients, employers, or insurers.
• Assess postoperative wounds and provide wound care instructions.
• Act as liaison between patient/family and physician and advise clinical staff.
• Travel to Summit outreach locations and cover events as assigned.
• Clean and stock patient exam rooms.

As the Athletic Trainer on our team, you’ll enrich patient's lives by using your full scope of skills to provide clinical support in the provision of quality orthopedic care and treatment of patients. You’ll work hand in hand with physicians and advanced practice providers; and work with local high school and community partnerships.

This is a casual float position primarily supporting our Orthopedic Urgent Care Department; 2 - 12 hour weekend shifts per month (8AM - 8PM) with the ability to pick up additional shifts as needed. Must have flexibility to float to all Summit locations as needed (Eagan, Eden Prairie, Lakeville, Plymouth, Vadnais Heights, and Woodbury, MN)

• Room patients, obtain patient health histories, and perform initial and secondary assessments of patients.
• Document patient information and care provided in patient’s medical record.
• Complete forms and documentation needed by patients, employers, or insurance companies.
• Assessment of post-operative wounds and provide standardized instruction in wound care.
• Act as liaison between the patient/family and physician and as a resource to clinical staff in answering orthopedic-related questions.
• Travel to and provide coverage to any of Summit’s outreach clinical locations and/or indoor or outdoor athletic events, as assigned.
• Clean and stock patient exam rooms.

Summit's hiring range for this position is $29.63 to $37.04 per hour. The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation.
