Job summary

Summit Orthopedics is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide clinical support in orthopedic care, working with physicians and athletic partners. The role involves patient rooming, histories, wound assessment, documentation, and cross-site coverage.

The position supports an operative sports medicine physician, with a Monday–Friday schedule and potential site flexibility between Woodbury and Vadnais Heights. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available, pro-rated by FTE.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support
• Bachelor's or better in Athletic Training or related field.
• Masters or better in Athletic Training or related field.
• 1 year: Newly graduated applicants will be considered. One or more years as an ATC, orthopedic/clinical preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain patient health histories, and perform initial and secondary assessments of patients.
• Document patient information and care provided in patient’s medical record.
• Complete forms and documentation needed by patients, employers, or insurance companies.
• Assessment of post-operative wounds and provide standardized instruction in wound care.
• Act as liaison between the patient/family and physician and as a resource to clinical staff in answering orthopedic-related questions.
• Travel to and provide coverage to any of Summit’s outreach clinical locations and/or indoor or outdoor athletic events, as assigned.
• Clean and stock patient exam rooms.

As the Athletic Trainer on our team, you’ll enrich patient's lives by using your full scope of skills to provide clinical support in the provision of quality orthopedic care and treatment of patients. You’ll work hand in hand with physicians and advanced practice providers; and work with local high school and community partnerships.

Eligible for $5,000 sign-on bonus (amount pro-rated based on assigned FTE)

This is a full-time position primarily supporting an Operative Sports Medicine Physician and Team. Monday - Friday schedule of 7:30 AM to 4:00 or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (schedule subject to change based on the needs of a team/clinic.) Primary location for this role will be at our Woodbury (Woodlake) Clinic with flexibility to float to other Summit campuses as needed. Other primary site will likely include our campus in Vadnais Heights, MN. This position may also involve coverage at Summit outreach sites, as applicable.

Summit's hiring range for this position is $27.47 to $34.34 per hour. The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation.
