Position qualifies for our Athletic Trainer Incentive Program: $10,000 paid over a three-year commitment period. Payment is spread over six installments, made after each six-month work period.

Summary:
This position requires clinical evaluation and educational skills expected of an athletic trainer in a physician extender role. Responsibilities include athletic injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning as per NATA standards. The athletic trainer will demonstrate taping, strapping, bracing, fitting athletic equipment, and will follow prescribed treatments from physicians. The role may involve working as an embedded member in a school with limited clinical supervision.

Responsibilities:

  1. Casting and Patient Care: Casting, providing splints, braces, crutches, other DME, patient education, staple or suture removal, preparing injections, taking vital signs, and maintaining rooms.
  2. Disability Cases: Responding to patient clinical calls and completing disability paperwork.
  3. Patient Education: Educating on home and therapeutic exercises, communicating effectively with patients and staff.
  4. Patient Information: Rooming patients, updating history and charts, verifying test results, ordering tests, and conducting thorough medical histories and physical exams with proper documentation.

Other Information

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), licensed or license-eligible by the North Carolina Board, and BLS certification.

Professional Experience: Preferred one year as an athletic trainer.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including medical terminology.
