The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive medical care for Men's Gymnastics and Dance teams. You will coordinate athletic training services, assist with onboarding, travel to events, and document medical records in compliance with university and governmental guidelines.

You'll join the Sports Performance Team focusing on injury prevention, return-to-play programs, and performance enhancements, while mentoring students and supporting department

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree required with 3+ years of relevant experience for Advanced Professional.
  • For Intermediate Professional: Master's Degree and 1+ years of experience.
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) by NATA Board of Certification; PA licensure.
  • CPR and AED certifications from recognized organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver athletic training and sports medicine services for student athletes.
  • Provide day-to-day medical care, practice coverage, and travel to away contests.
  • Serve on Sports Performance Team for injury prevention and return-to-play planning.
  • Maintain medical records and assist with policy development and facility inventory.
  • Supervise athletic training students as a preceptor; participate in staff meetings.

POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a candidate to fill the role of Athletic Trainer with primary sports responsibility for Men's Gymnastics and Dance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with coordination and delivery of comprehensive athletic training and sports medicine services for assigned student athletes. Scheduling, organization, and completion of onboarding and exit physicals. Attend (and transport) student athletes to medical appointments when medically necessary. Provide day-to-day medical care, practice and event coverage and travel to away contests.

  • Serve as member of Sports Performance Team for collaborative development and implementation of comprehensive injury prevention, Return to Play and performance enhancement programs.

  • Documentation of proper medical records in accordance with all governmental and university guidelines. Assist with policy and procedure development and updates. Assist with maintaining athletic training facility and inventory of supplies and equipment.

  • Participate in staff meetings and on departmental committees or working groups as requested.

  • Supervise athletic training students as a preceptor as assigned.

  • Mentor other staff members and assist with cross coverage when needed or defined by supervisor.Physical effort required for practice/game preparation and during emergency care management and rehabilitation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $44,628.00 - $71,340.00.
