STAUNTON RIVER HIGH in Moneta, Virginia seeks an Athletic Trainer long-term substitute to oversee medical care for student-athletes within the Bedford County Public Schools system. The role consults with head coaches and athletic administrators on injury prevention and rehab, while supervising treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning programs.

The candidate must be a licensed athletic trainer with a Baccalaureate degree and experience in rehabilitation equipment and diagnostic tools, ready

Qualifications

Must be a licensed member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association.
Must have a Baccalaureate degree and experience in applying and supervising physical therapy and/or diagnostic equipment.
Experience using isometrics, isotonic, and isokinetic rehabilitation equipment.
Ability to use basic diagnostic medical equipment such as a stethoscope and sphygmomanometer.

Responsibilities

Provides primary medical care and referrals for student-athlete injuries and illnesses.
Implements therapy, rehabilitation and reconditioning regimens.
Maintains injury and treatment records for student-athletes.
Manages athletic training budget requests and inventory controls.
Develops training room rules and supervises student-athletes.
Communicates needs to the athletic director and facilities staff.
Educates and supervises student athletic trainers.
Communicates with parents/guardians about injuries.
Performs other duties assigned by the Principal.
