Job description

The Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer for a full-time position at Lee University in Cleveland, TN. The Athletic Trainer will provide proper care and treatment to athletes in training or events at a Division II college. The athletic trainer will work to identify, treat, and prevent injuries alongside medical staff and athletic officials to provide comprehensive services. As an extension of the Center for Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics within the community, the athletic trainer employed in this outreach position is also responsible for assisting with marketing and contractual agreements of athletic training services.

Benefits and Pay:

  • Starting salary minimum $52,200. Salary exempt position with range based upon qualifications and experience.
  • $750 annually in CEU funds combined with MedBridge subscription
  • Reimbursement available for mileage and cell phone
  • 401(k) and 50% matching up to 6% of earnings

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ability to properly assess, treat, and implement strategies to prevent athletic injuries.
  • Ability to develop, evaluate, and revise treatment plans based on changes in patient status and response to treatment as well as ability to properly instruct and demonstrate procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, families, athletic officials, peers, and colleagues to provide comprehensive services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide emotional reassurance and guidance to athletes, families, and coaches.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • NPI Number
  • Athletic Training Licensure (or eligibility) in the State of Tennessee and Georgia
  • BOC Certification
  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • Master's degree (preferred)
  • 1 year experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer (preferred)
  • CPR/AED Certification from the American Heart Association

Work Location:

  • Main location: Lee University (Cleveland, TN)
  • Must be flexible to fill in at other locations if/when needed.
