Job summary

Advocate Health in Chicago seeks a dedicated athletic trainer to perform injury assessments, triage patients, and refer to required care, while coordinating with physicians and the medical team to determine testing needs.

You will establish and implement individual treatment plans, monitor progress, document care, provide home exercise programs, and educate patients and families, adapting plans as outcomes change.

Qualifications

• Must hold CAATE-accredited Bachelor's degree.
• BOC athletic trainer certification and state licensure eligibility within 30 days.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs injury assessments and triages patients; refers for necessary care and coordinates with physicians and medical team.
• Establishes plan of care and implements individualized treatment; communicates and updates care plan based on patient progress.
• Identifies factors affecting comfort; works with diverse patient populations; provides education and home exercise programs.
• Completes documentation of assessments, progress notes and after-visit summaries per department policy.
• Performs patient positioning, transfers and lifting with proper technique; ensures safety.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care and uses growth/development knowledge in patient care.
