Athletic Trainer I, Rowing

Position Summary

MSU Athletics is searching for an Athletic Trainer I to develop, implement, evaluate and maintain comprehensive health care programs for student-athletes in the women's rowing program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate injuries in order to design and execute appropriate rehabilitation exercises.
  • Educate and counsel coaching staffs, athletes, physicians co-workers, students, parents, media, and consultants.
  • Maintain and implement comprehensive preventive physical conditioning programs for the student-athletes.
  • Administer emergency care and makes medical referrals.
  • Organize and maintain daily medical records, including daily treatment logs and prescription drug logs using a computerized sports injury management program.
  • Ensure that University, NCAA, federal and state policies, procedures, and/or regulations are followed.
  • Instruct and evaluate athletic training students.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work, such as a Masters in Physical Education with relevant coursework in athletic training; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in all aspects of athletic training or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).

Division I collegiate experience as an athletic trainer.
