Job summary

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Orthopedics seeks a full-time Clinic Athletic Trainer 1 to join the UHealth SoLe Mia Medical Center in Aventura, FL. The role provides patient-centered care under physician supervision and involves evaluation, treatment and coordination of care for orthopedic patients.

Responsibilities include history taking, physical examinations, order execution under supervision, patient education, and care coordination with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Athletic Trainer License and BLS certification required.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of patients with injuries.
• Performs physical examinations including ROM, strength testing, neurovascular and sensation testing.
• Transcribes and executes standing orders under physician supervision (imaging, PT, injections, braces, etc.).
• Provides patient education and rehabilitation guidance.
• Fits patients with splints, crutches, braces and other orthopedic devices; assists with billing documentation.
• Assists in surgical prep, booking and liaison among patient, surgeon and staff.
• Maintains clinic organization, processes billing and insurance authorizations as needed.
