$15,000.00 SIGN ON BONUS WITH A TWO YEAR COMMITMENT FOR ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES*

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Recognizes, manages, and rehabilitates injuries to professional, amateur, and recreational athletes. Provides injury prevention techniques. Works independently under the supervision of Senior Staff, Sports Medicine Supervisor, and Team physicians to manage daily operations within a school district's athletic medicine program. Acts as a communication point between AHN and the district, liaising with athletic directors, coaches, nurses, physicians, parents, athletes, and sports medicine staff. Develops exercise programs, manages data entry and recordkeeping, assists with facility cleaning, and monitors supplies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Evaluates and manages injuries, determining if referrals are necessary. Maintains medical files for each athlete and liaises with physicians and parents. Prepares athletes for practice or competition. (50%)
  2. Serves as a liaison among school administrators, nurses, guidance counselors, coaches, athletes, and parents to manage, educate, and facilitate return-to-play protocols, including concussion management in accordance with Pennsylvania State Law. (20%)
  3. Implements treatment and rehabilitation programs under physician supervision and guidance from Athletic Trainer II or Senior Staff. Develops functional and conditioning programs for injured and non-injured athletes. (20%)
  4. Assists with cleaning the facility each night and organizing equipment. (10%)
  5. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; or 1-2 years related experience/training; or equivalent combination.
  • 0-1 years’ experience
  • Current state licensure as a certified Athletic Trainer or eligible for Temporary Practice Permit.
  • National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA) certification or Temporary license.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance.

Preferred

  • 1-3 years’ experience
  • Experience with concussion baseline testing software.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Current state driver’s license.
