Qualifications

Are you ready to play an integral role in the treatment and care of athletes? Henry Ford Health is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Athletic Trainer to support our student athletes at Allen Park High School. As a part of our vibrant community, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the health, performance, and success of our student-athletes.


About Allen Park High School:


Allen Park High School is located in Allen Park, Michigan. An MHSAA Class A school, APHS competes in the Downriver League. APHS Jaguars field roughly 25 athletic teams and has an enrollment of 1120 athletes. The athletic trainer's primary responsibilities will be at Allen Park High School; however, additional hours outside of the school for Henry Ford Health may be assigned. The athletic trainer will effectively communicate with HFH sports medicine staff and the team physician to coordinate medical care for the APHS Athletics community.

What You'll Do:



  • Provide athletic training services to our athletes at Allen Park High School.

  • Be the liaison between Henry Ford Health and Allen Park High School to help coordinate various appointments within the health system.

  • Collaborate with assigned Henry Ford Health team physician and various healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care.

  • Play a hands-on role in helping athletes reach their peak performance by delivering individualized care for both injuries and overall wellness.

  • Educate on best practices for maintaining health and promote long-term wellness.

  • Expand your skills by offering services beyond the school, including assisting in physician clinics, community outreach, and engagement events.

What We're Looking For:



  • Board of Certification (ATC) and Michigan state licensure (or eligibility to obtain before hire).

  • A post-professional master's degree in athletic training or related field is preferred, along with two years of experience (can be combination of education and experience).

  • Strong ability to work independently while thriving in a team-oriented environment.

  • Knowledge and adherence to NCAA, NJCAA, and MHSAA policies, with a commitment to supporting community outreach programs.



Additional Skills or Certifications:



  • Additional certifications like CSCS, PES, FMS, CKTP, EMT are highly valued.
