Job Overview

U.S. Soccer is seeking a dedicated Athletic Trainer to support the development and well-being of the Extended National Teams. This role involves providing athletic training services, injury prevention, and rehabilitation support to elite athletes, working closely with the Sports Medicine and Sports Science teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver athletic training and medical support to ENT athletes, including travel to camps and competitions.
  • Design and implement injury prevention, recognition, and treatment programs.
  • Evaluate injuries and coordinate referrals to medical specialists.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure data is up-to-date in designated systems.
  • Collaborate with team staff to optimize athlete performance and health.
  • Manage medical inventory and evaluate new medical technologies.
  • Build relationships with athletes and clubs to facilitate data sharing and support.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field.
  • NATABOC certification and membership in NATA or equivalent.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience in soccer or elite sports.
  • Experience working with athletes with special needs, such as CP/Paraplegic athletes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and work non-traditional hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Passion for soccer and experience with elite teams.
  • Additional certifications in manual therapy, biomechanics, or emergency care.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
